GLOSSARY

EVERY TERM · DEFINED · BY THE TEAM
DOM
The native ICRC-1 fungible token of the Dawn of Machines protocol. 8 decimals. Maximum supply 1,000,000 — hard-capped cryptographically by the dom_token canister. Symbol: DOM.
canister · k5vjv-waaaa-aaaae-agdha-cai
The Cap
The 1,000,000 DOM hard supply ceiling. Enforced at two independent levels: dom_token's MAX_SUPPLY check rejects any mint that would exceed it, and dom_staking's EPOCH_EMISSIONS array sums to exactly 1,000,000 across 7 epochs. Audited 18 Apr 2026 — the team cannot mint, the deployer cannot mint, no admin function exists that bypasses the cap.
Total Removed
DOM permanently destroyed plus DOM permanently locked. Formula: token.totalBurned + etch.domLocked. The number that grows every spin, every burn, every cert mint. Visible on the homepage burn dashboard.
Real Circulating
DOM that actually exists and can move. Formula: icrc1_total_supply() − etch.domLocked. Subtracts cert-locked DOM from total supply because that DOM cannot be transferred or used.
The Furnace
The voluntary burn mechanism. Anyone can send DOM to dom_staking and call burnDOM to destroy it permanently. No upside, no game — pure protocol support. Burns reduce supply. The Furnace lives on the main app at 🎛 COCKPIT ktxe5.
Mining
Staking ICP to earn DOM. The ONLY way new DOM enters circulation. Stake between 0.5 and 10 ICP per wallet, earn DOM proportional to your stake × time multiplier. Stakes never expire — but a 7-day dissolve period applies if you want your ICP back.
Time Multiplier
A bonus that grows the longer you stake. Starts at 1× (0–30 days), rises through 1.25× / 1.5× / 2× / 2.5× / and tops out at 3× after 18 months. Resets only if you unstake and restake. Long-term stakers earn dramatically more DOM per epoch than short-term stakers.
Epoch
A ~6-month period (182 days) during which a fixed amount of DOM is emitted. There are 7 epochs total — the schedule halves each epoch, so the first epoch emits 500,000 DOM, the second 250,000, then 125k, 62.5k, 31.25k, 15.625k, 15.625k. Final emission ~Dec 2029.
7 epochs · 1,000,000 DOM total · halving series
Dissolve
The 7-day countdown that begins when you start unstaking. After 7 days, you can claim your ICP back. Your time multiplier resets. If you change your mind, you can cancelDissolve before the countdown ends — your stake stays locked and your multiplier keeps growing.
Certificate of Burn (Cert)
A unique numbered NFT minted by burning 100 DOM. Maximum supply: 10,000 certs. Each cert has a permanent serial number (#0001 to #10000), an etcher (original minter), and a hash seed that encodes its genome — power, speed, element, and rarity. Certs unlock participation in DOM games and live forever on-chain.
canister · gtub5-baaaa-aaaae-agfwq-cai
Etch
The act of burning 100 DOM to mint a Certificate of Burn. The DOM you etch is sent to the etch canister, where it is locked forever — economically equivalent to burning. To etch is to leave a permanent mark on the protocol.
Genome
The hidden stats encoded in a cert's hashSeed. Includes power (0–100), speed (0–100), element (FORGE, VOID, DAWN, MACHINE, or CIPHER), and rarity (COMMON, RARE, EPIC, LEGENDARY). Derived deterministically at the moment of minting and immutable forever. Used in Cert Duels, Battle, and future games.
Element
One of five elemental classes assigned to each cert: FORGE 🔥, VOID 🕳, DAWN 🌅, MACHINE ⚙, CIPHER 🔐. Forms a 5-way rock-paper-scissors cycle for combat: MACHINE beats FORGE, FORGE beats VOID, VOID beats DAWN, DAWN beats CIPHER, CIPHER beats MACHINE.
Trophy
An on-chain achievement awarded to a cert when it accomplishes something — completing a Blast Off mission, hitting a Forge Wheel jackpot, surviving a duel. Trophies live on the dom_arcade canister, are visible on every cert's profile page, and cannot be transferred or removed.
canister · 5eot6-vqaaa-aaaae-aghfq-cai
The Spark
The 2 DOM that burns at the start of every Forge Wheel spin. Of the 10 DOM each spin costs, 2 burns to the furnace immediately and 8 reaches the prize pool. Every spin makes the supply smaller, regardless of outcome. Pay the spark, feed the furnace.
Forge Wheel
The trustless slot machine of DOM. Three reels, five elemental symbols. 10 DOM per spin (2 SPARK + 8 to prize pool). Cert-gated — only cert holders may spin. Match three symbols to win the prize pool minus the 100 DOM permanent floor. Every jackpot etches a permanent trophy onto the winner's cert. Lives at domburns.xyz/forgewheel.
canister · vroxd-iaaaa-aaaae-aggqq-cai
Pool Floor
The 100 DOM permanent collateral that lives inside the Forge Wheel canister. Never paid out. Even on a jackpot, the pool resets to the floor — only DOM accumulated above it gets paid. The floor exists so the canister can always cover a payout.
Blast Off
The first Arcade game. Strap your cert into a fuel-burning vessel and launch a mission. Burn DOM as fuel. Survive the journey to earn the Lunar Emblem. Run out of fuel and your cert gets the KIA marker — forever. Sprint missions take 2 hours; lunar missions take 48.
canister · 5rjct-uyaaa-aaaae-aghga-cai
Arena
The PvP wing of DOM. Where certs fight certs. Currently houses Battle (the deterministic genome-vs-genome duel). Coming soon: CIPHERWAR — direct-challenge and open-queue duels with on-chain resolution and a prize pool.
Arcade
The single-player games hub. Featured cards for every game in the protocol. Currently: Blast Off (live), Forge Wheel (live), Anomaly (coming), and the certificate lookup + game-trophy leaderboards.
Anomaly
The next iteration of Blast Off. Solar storms, debris fields, gravitational events. Anomaly events that demand real player decisions. Skill-based, not a vending machine. In development.

Cipher Grid
Daily puzzle game in development. The canister publishes a new sudoku each day; pay 5 DOM to attempt; correct solutions earn a trophy and a daily-solver bonus from the prize pool. A reason to come back every 24 hours.

Burn Lords
The leaderboard of certs that have burned the most DOM across every protocol mechanism — etching, the Furnace, Forge Wheel, future games. Top burners receive monthly DOM rebates from a pool funded by 5% of all going-forward burns. Working name. In development.

Patron Burn
A voluntary tribute mechanic: anyone can burn DOM at any time as a gesture of support, no game attached. Burns appear on the LIVE BURNS ticker. Wallets crossing thresholds (10/100/1000 DOM) earn a permanent DOM_PATRON on-chain mark. Coming together to make DOM more precious.

Lounge
The OTC marketplace for DOM. Direct peer-to-peer DOM-for-ICP trading. No AMM, no spread — sellers post listings, buyers accept. 5% fee on every sale flows to the protocol cycles wallet.
canister · xxwfo-bqaaa-aaaae-agg5q-cai
Marketplace
The Certificate of Burn marketplace. List, buy, and trade certs for DOM. Every sale burns a portion of the protocol fee permanently. Min listing 200 DOM.
canister · szlis-giaaa-aaaae-aggba-cai
Blackhole
The act of replacing a canister's controller with the principal aaaaa-aa — a principal that can never sign anything. Once blackholed, a canister can never be upgraded or reinstalled by anyone, ever. dom_token will be blackholed at the end of Epoch 1, making the 1M cap mathematically eternal and removing the protocol from any single party's reach.
Controller
The principal that has administrative power over a canister — can upgrade its code, reinstall it, manage its cycles. Standard for new canisters. Replaced with the blackhole principal once a canister reaches maturity.
Canister
A piece of software running on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). Each canister has a unique principal ID. The DOM protocol consists of nine canisters working together: dom_token, dom_staking, dom_treasury, dom_etch, dom_marketplace, dom_blastoff, dom_games, dom_arcade, dom_predictions.
Principal
A unique identifier on ICP, used for both wallets and canisters. Format: lowercase letters and numbers separated by hyphens, e.g. k5vjv-waaaa-aaaae-agdha-cai (the dom_token canister) or mf4w6-g3ktu-... (the deployer wallet). When you connect Plug, your wallet has its own principal.
ICP
The native token of the Internet Computer Protocol. The blockchain DOM is built on. The only thing you stake to mine DOM. Holds ~1-second consensus time and provides the cryptographic randomness that powers Forge Wheel outcomes.
Plug
The most popular Web3 wallet for ICP. Required for spinning the Forge Wheel, etching certs, listing on the marketplace, and most write operations on DOM. Browser extension; install at plugwallet.ooo.
Siignal
The protocol build log. Every shipment, every audit, every milestone, posted in chronological order. Lives at domburns.xyz/siignal. Read it to follow what the team has done and what's coming next.
Manifesto
The founding document. The why of DOM. Read it at domburns.xyz/manifesto.
