The pool streams out continuously across the 7 days. Whoever's staked at each moment shares that moment's drip — stake early, hold, earn more. Capped so no single whale drains it: max 5,000 DOM per wallet. When the 7 days close, your DOM and earned ICP return to you automatically — no need to unstake.

ICP votes to upgrade 80% of its cloud engines

NNS Proposal 144100 passed with 88.5% support and not a single vote against, moving the bulk of the network’s cloud engines to a new replica version — infrastructure upgraded not by a vendor’s ops team, but by an on-chain vote that executed itself.

Internet Computer upgrades its cloud engines by NNS vote
Upgrading the cloud by ballot. · LedgerLife

The Internet Computer has completed a network upgrade covering 80% of its cloud engines after NNS Proposal 144100 was adopted, moving the targeted engines to replica version 2c2c7c9. The vote recorded 88.501% support — 620,938,494 voting power in favour, none against — and executed automatically once it passed.

The NNS is the network’s on-chain governance system: ICP holders vote on proposals and adopted changes run themselves, with no central operator pushing the update. Here that machinery was aimed at infrastructure rather than protocol economics — a whole fleet of engines moved in one coordinated, recorded action.

Cloud engines are configurable private subnets: operators choose the underlying nodes, providers and geographic locations, giving organisations control over where applications run and how they’re spread. ICP pitches them as an alternative to traditional cloud for anyone worried about data location, regulation, or leaning on a single provider — the same argument Dominic Williams made in last week’s lead, drawing on the game he lost to one deleted database.

The caveat holds: the vote shows the network can coordinate an infrastructure upgrade on-chain, but claims about cloud engines replacing conventional providers or delivering full sovereignty remain part of ICP’s pitch rather than a settled outcome. Earlier this year a test engine spanning major cloud providers trialled subnet shielding, firewall isolation and registry replication.

Caffeine lets app owners approve who can build

Caffeine adds an approval system for app-building access

Caffeine has added an approval step for build access. A commenter who wants to help on an app taps “Request to build”; the owner gets a message naming the requester and decides whether to grant it. Approved, the user gets the same editing permissions as the owner.

The point is control: commenting no longer implies editing, and access is handed out deliberately, one request at a time. For anyone building with friends or collaborators on Caffeine’s natural-language platform, it’s the difference between an app locked to edits and one opened to the right people — without opening it to everyone.

Menese opens a limited on-chain sale before listings

Menese Protocol opens a limited on-chain token sale

Menese Protocol has opened a limited token sale hosted on the Internet Computer’s NNS, ahead of planned exchange listings. The pitch is agentic DeFi: users compose strategies for venues across chains including Solana and Sui, which then execute automatically, 24/7, while staying non-custodial.

The announcement is light on specifics — no timing, exchanges, pricing or allocation — so the usual caution applies to a pre-listing sale of a newly issued token: read the terms and weigh the risk before committing. Whether the automation lives up to the billing will come down to implementation, security and real use.

Onicai trims its mAIner cycle bonus to 30%

Onicai has cut the bonus on mAIner top-ups from 40% to 30% — the latest step down from an original 60% (via 50% and 40%), now halved from where it started. The 30% rate holds for a few more days before dropping again to 20%. The bonus is an extra cycle incentive layered on top-ups; rates and eligibility keep moving, so check the current terms before you top up. Full story →

US money supply hits a record $23.34 trillion

US M2 reached a record $23.3428 trillion in August, up about $124.9 billion on July and 5.7% year on year — the fastest annual growth since June 2022. M2 (currency, deposits and near-liquid assets) has climbed every month since late 2023; it’s a barometer of financial conditions, though on its own it doesn’t set inflation or asset prices. The Fed’s H.6 release landed 22 September; the next is due 27 October. Full story →
